Blood Wine (Cocktail)

Happy Halloween! And congratulations on completing Sober October. Here’s one to end it all with some Surely Bubbly Red.

Blood Wine

  • 3 oz. Surely Bubbly Red

  • .5 oz. Grenadine

  • .25 Lime juice

  • Extra grenadine for garnish

  • Vampire teeth for garnish

Combine ingredients in a wine glass, add ice, and stir. Dip vampire teeth in extra grenadine and place on the side of the glass.

Nightcap Old Fashioned (Cocktail)

Three Spirit Nightcap makes a wonderful end of the night cocktail, warm and calming.

Nightcap Old Fashioned

  • 2.5 oz. Three Spirit Nightcap

  • .25 oz. Maple Syrup

  • 1 dash All the Bitter Aromatic Bitters

  • 1 dash All the Bitter Orange Bitters

  • Orange peel

Combine ingredients in a double rocks glass, add ice (one big ice cube would be perfect), and stir.

The World's Best NA Dry Martini (Cocktail)

I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the world’s best NA Dry Martini. Martinis, real Martinis, are not an easy thing to emulate. However, Monday Zero Alcohol Gin helps.

The World’s Best NA Dry Martini

  • 1.5 oz. Monday Zero Alcohol Gin

  • 1.5 oz. Roots Divino Apéritif Bianco

  • 1 tsp. Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1 tsp. Olive Juice

  • 2 dashes All the Bitters Orange Bitters

  • Olive for garnish

  • Lemon peel for garnish

Combine ingredients in a mixing tin with ice. Stir and strain liquid into a chilled cocktail glass. Express lemon peel on top and garnish with peel and an olive.

Aplós Calme Basil Smash (Cocktail)

A fresh take on the Gin Basil Smash using Aplós Calme, a functional non-alcoholic beverage. Functional just means it can have health functions––in this case a calming effect.

Aplós Calme Basil Smash

  • 1.5 oz. Aplós Calme 

  • 1 oz Lemon Juice

  • 1 oz. Simple Syrup

  • 4 Sprigs Basil (about 12-15 leaves for muddling and reserve one sprig for garnish)

Muddle basil and simple. Combine all in a shaker and shake until chilled. Double strain liquid into a double rocks glass, add ice, and garnish with basil sprig.

Come Closer (Cocktail)

If you miss boozy & stirred rum cocktails, the Come Closer is your jam. Utilizing a really complex but fun apéritif, Everleaf Forest, this rum-ish cocktail is the El Presidente meets White Kingston Negroni.

Come Closer

  • 2 oz. Caleño Dark & Spicy

  • 1 oz. Everleaf Forest

  • 1 oz. Roots Divino Apéritif Bianco

  • 1 dash All the Bitters Orange Bitters

  • 1 barspoon Kosterina Crushed Tangerine Vinegar

Combine with ice and stir until cold. Pour liquid into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a pineapple wedge.

Marrakesh Mule (Cocktail)

This cocktail keeps it simple and provides a tasty, warming beverage. Use Betty Buzz Ginger Beer, which has a spicy kick.

Marrakesh Mule

  • 2 oz. Strongly Brewed Black Tea with mint leaves added

  • 4 oz. Betty Buzz Ginger Beer

  • .25 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

  • Mint Sprig for garnish

Brew tea and add mint leaves as it cools. Once cooled, strain and add tea, ginger beer, and lime to a Moscow Mule mug or highball. Add ice and garnish with mint sprig.

Wilfred’s Bittersweet Apéritif has a very Campari-esque quality, though it’s more herbaceous, especially rosemary. Therefore, it works well in this delicious Negroni Sbagliatio variation.

NA Negroni Sbagliatio

  • 1.5 oz. Wilfred’s Bittersweet Apéritif

  • 1.5 oz. Roots Divino Apéritif Rosso

  • 1.5 oz. French Bloom “Le Blanc” Sparkling

Pour into wine glass, add ice, stir and garnish with an orange peel.

Downward Tiger (Cocktail)

Little Saints St. Ember is a great addition to one of my favorite Margarita riffs that I created, Downward Tiger.

Downward Tiger

  • 1 oz. Little Saints St. Ember

  • 1 ½ oz. Lime juice

  • 1 ½ oz. Apple juice (fresh green apple juice, juiced at home is preferable)

  • 1 oz. Honey syrup (2:1 honey to hot water, stir and allow to cool)

  • ½ oz. Aquafaba (chickpea water, from a can)

  • 1 dash Green chili hot sauce

  • 6 drops Salt tincture (4 parts salt to 1 part water, shake until dissolved)

Combine ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Strain the ice and then double shake without ice. Pour into a cocktail glass. Green apple slice garnish optional.

NA Espresso Martini (Cocktail)

This take on the Espresso Martini is fairly easy to make and does half of what the original purports to do.

NA Espresso Martini

  • 1.5 oz. Seedlip Spice 94

  • 2 oz. Cheeky Espresso Syrup

  • .5 oz. Aquafaba (chickpea water)

  • Espresso beans for garnish

Combine all ingredients except for the espresso beans and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with espresso beans.
